Through out the years we have gained extensive knowledge concerning the preservation of antique wooden windows. With this knowledge we have created a system that restores windows. Our system works!
This process will save home owners approximately 50% of the cost of replacement. The bonus to this process is that the Vintage Wavy Glass will not have to be replaced. Saving the original glass also preserves the old Victorian heritage of San Francisco.
The Process:
Step 1: Sand loose paint and check for rot.
Step 2: Remove rotted areas of wood. Allowing the good wood
to dry out.
Step 3: Apply a clear penetrating epoxy that petrifies the wood. This epoxy cures in 2-3 days.
Step 4: Reconstruct and fill removed areas and defects such as
cracks and holes.
Step 5: Sand and Prime
Step 6: A final coat paint or a top-coat is optional.
Step 7: Professional window washing is optional.
This process usually takes approximately 5-7 business days.
There are levels of Restoration:
Minor Restoration - Limited to only rotted areas and no other work done.
Average Restoration - Light version of detailed Restoration. Minor imperfections are over-looked.
Detailed Restoration - Included: removal and replacement of loose glazing. Sanding and filling imperfections are given much more detail. The entire window is detailed and primed.
